Training for auxiliary nurses or nursing assistants / forklift truck courses

Neu-Ulm | January 2017 - December 2017 | Malteser Neu-Ulm
As part of a certified training course, four people completed 160 hours of training (split across 45-minute sessions) to become auxiliary nurses or nursing assistants. Among other things, the trainees are taught how to provide nursing care and motivate patients, recognise and monitor symptoms, measure blood pressure and position patients correctly. They complete a first-aid course and a final written and oral exam. Once the training is complete, they can progress to additional modular training courses.
One person has successfully completed the training to become a care assistant and is soon to be employed by a residence of the AWO (Workers Welfare Institution). One person is due to sign a contract with the St. Anna-Stift nursing facility and the other two people will complete their studies in May/June.
The project provides an excellent opportunity to start a career in an understaffed profession.
