Emergency assistance in Iraq. Safe places for refugee children and young people
Irak | Juny 2016 - March 2019 | terre des hommes
The Beurer-Foundation and terre des hommes are supporting the emergency assistance project in Iraq and are creating safe places for refugee children and young people. In the partner country, the project is being led by terre des hommes Italy (tdhIt) and local organisations "ROSE" and the "NRO Jiyan Foundation".
The project aims to build and reinforce the social infrastructure for refugees. Particular emphasis is placed on setting up and maintaining pedagogical and therapeutic support structures. In particular, the project aims to improve the precarious living conditions and child protection measures, and to strengthen the mental resilience of the refugees living in four refugee camps and the five neighbouring communities of the the Erbil and Dohuk districts in northern Iraq.
