Together against plastic waste in Bintan

Indonesien | since May 2025 | Seven Clean Seas
Our oceans are of inestimable value: they regulate the global climate, are home to an impressive variety of species, and secure the livelihoods of millions of people worldwide. However, this delicate ecosystem is threatened – particularly by massive pollution with plastic waste.

The Beurer Foundation is therefore committed to protect the seas and supports the Seven Clean Seas organization, which fights against the plastic flood with innovative and effective projects – specifically, sustainably and socially responsibly.

Seven Clean Seas helps to build recycling infrastructures, river barriers, and effective waste management systems in Indonesia. The ambitious goal: 100 million kilograms of plastic should be removed from the oceans by 2030.

Our contribution:
The Beurer Foundation enables the elimination of 35,000 kilograms of plastic waste annually. Furthermore, the project creates fair, socially secure full-time jobs on site. The collected plastic waste is not only disposed of, but also transformed into new, meaningful products such as building materials – a circular approach with social and ecological added value.
